Real Heroes Breakfast
Humanitarian Youth Hero:
Presented to an ordinary citizen using
life saving training skills to save the life of another.
Humanitarian Adult Hero:
Presented to an ordinary citizen using life saving
training skills to save the life of another.
Animal Rescue Hero:
Presented to an ordinary citizen
using life saving training skills to save the life of an animal or an animal(s)
who save human lives.
Community Partner Hero:
Presented to a community group,
neighborhood organization or local company that consistently demonstrates a
commitment to making a difference in the community.
Fire
Safety Hero:
Presented to a professional or
volunteer firefighter whose lifesaving action goes above and beyond the call of
duty or ordinary citizen whose lifesaving action involved fire.
Law Enforcement/Dispatch Hero:
Presented to a law enforcement
agent and/or 911 dispatcher whose lifesaving action goes above and beyond the
call of duty.
Medical Hero:
Presented to a medical professional, an organization or an
ordinary citizen whose lifesaving action goes above and beyond the call of duty.
Military Hero:
Presented to a member of the armed forces (active or
retired, commissioned or non-commissioned) whose lifesaving action goes above
and beyond the call of duty.
Wilderness Rescue Hero:
Presented to an ordinary citizen or
professional rescuer involved in rescuing a person in a wilderness environment
either on land, at sea or in the mountains.
Workplace Safety Hero:
Presented to an ordinary citizen who saves a life at his
or her office, manufacturing plant, construction site, or other workplace
environment.
Throughout the South Puget Sound community, ordinary people perform extraordinary life saving acts every day. The American Red Cross Mount Rainier Chapter needs your help to identify and recognize our local heroes for their selflessness and courage.
Your Real Hero nominee may be a friend or family member, a neighbor, a firefighter, a member of the military or a police office. The nominee can be a professionally trained life saver or simply a Good Samaritan.
Proceeds from the Real Heroes Breakfast benefit local disaster Red Cross disaster relief and emergency services.
To nominate a Real Hero, please complete the Nomination form on-line.
Nominee(s) must have saved (or assisted in saving) a life by intervening in a life-threatening situation and/or given the victim the aid they needed (or would have needed) to survive.
The nominee can be a professionally trained life saver or simply a Good Samaritan.
Nominee cannot have caused or contributed to the incident itself.
The nominee must live or work in Pierce, Thurston, Mason or Lewis Counties. The heroic act may have occurred outside these counties as long as the hero is a resident of one of them.
