How To Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with the American
Red Cross Mount Rainier Chapter serving Pierce, Thurston, Mason and
Lewis Counties. Volunteers are essential to the services we provide this
community and we welcome your interest!
Whether
it’s assisting families devastated by a house fire, providing emergency
communications
for military families, or teaching lifesaving first aid
and CPR skills. Red Cross volunteers touch
many lives in our community everyday.
Volunteers are helping to make our
community
a better place to live and are truly the HEART
of the American Red Cross.
We ask that all
potential volunteers submit a volunteer application, schedule an interview, and
attend an orientation class.

Once you have completed the self-assessment and have decided that
you would like to become a Red Cross volunteer:
1. Please fill out the enclosed application form.
2. Please ask two (2) people, excluding relatives, with whom you have either
worked or volunteered to fill out the reference form. If you were currently a
student, then a teacher, school counselor, or minister would also be
appropriate. The forms can be sent back directly to the Red Cross.
3. Once your application and two references are received, we will contact you
for an interview. At the time of your interview you will need to bring your
Driver’s License or if you don’t have one, then another form of I.D. accepted by
Volunteer Services.
