Real Heroes Breakfast
The signature fundraising event for the American Red Cross Mount
Rainier Chapter, the proceeds from the Real Heroes Breakfast will
benefit local
Red Cross programs and emergency services such as
disaster relief efforts in our community.
The American Red Cross responds to a
disaster
in our community almost every two days. Often called the "Silent
Disasters," house fires leave
local families devastated and often homeless.
In their darkest hour, Red Cross
disaster relief volunteers are there at the scene of the fire
to comfort, support, and provide immediate emergency assistance to
those affected. This
is possible because of the support and donations from local residents
and businesses.
The Red Cross is not a government agency.
History, Tradition, & Impact
The Real Heroes Breakfast
grew out of the desire to develop an event that is closely related to
the mission of the American Red Cross which is saving lives through
prevention, preparedness, and response.
The Real Heroes Breakfast and the
tradition of recognizing community heroes was started right here in
Pierce County. It has since, grown into a nationwide Red Cross event
that honors hundreds of heroes annually.
Since 1994, the Real Heroes
Breakfast has raised over a million dollars to support local Red Cross
disaster relief and emergency preparedness efforts in our community.
